DR. BRIAN DENIS PAUL BUCKLEY

Chief Executive Officer

Brian was appointed CEO of Oman LNG in February 2007. He joined Royal Dutch Shell in 1980. His career has spanned management and executive positions in oil refining, gas, personnel, and major projects’ screening and execution in the oil, gas, chemicals and metals sectors. He has worked in Europe, the Caribbean, South America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. His career started as a mathematician and theoretical physicist at Manchester University and with the UK Science Research Council. His professional interests have included a close relationship with the Institute of Chemical Engineering (UK) in the late 80’s when he became a corporate member. He has also chaired many industrial committees on Technical Issues and Sustainable Development, in which he has retained close and active interests. d active interests.

 

Amor Nasser Almatani Beng Hon, MBA

Deputy CEO

Amor joined OLNG in 2002 as Deputy CEO. After graduating from Teesside University (UK; 1990) in Instrumentation and Control Engineer he joined Petroleum Development Oman in upstream operations and commissioning. In 1993 Amor moved to the Ministry of Health here he occupied a number of executive positions, including Deputy Director General for Administration and Finance at the Royal Hospital, Oman’s largest hospital for specialised medical care in Oman. He completed his MBA (Newcastle) in 1997 before being appointed Director General for Sur Industrial Estate in the Public Establishment of Industrial Estates (PEIE). Amor has a keen interest in education. He is a member on a number of university and technical colleges’ boards and chairman of the Board of Trustees for OLNG’s HAS school. He is also chairman of OLNG’s Tender Board.

 

Ir. Rene’ Peter Guillaume Alexander de Nier

Chief Operating Officer

Rene’ was appointed Vice President Production of Oman LNG in August 2010. He joined Royal Dutch Shell in 1984. His career has spanned professional positions in oil refining, LNG, New Business Development, major projects and corporate governance. He has worked in Europe, Australasia, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, mostly in LNG Joint ventures. His academic qualifications include B.Sc. in chemistry and M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering at Eindhoven Technical University. Professional interests have included a close relationship with the Royal Institute of Chemical Engineering of The Netherlands (KIVI, NL). He has also participated in committees on Technical Issues and Human Resource development

 

MR. ADNAN RAJAB

Chief Commercial Officer

Adnan was appointed Vice President Marketing and Shipping in January 2005. He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University in Mineral Economist with a minor in Energy Environment Business. He joined the LNG world in 1996 with Oman LNG and worked initially as an Economist/Business Analyst in the corporate planning department. He joined the marketing team in 1998 where his main task was to sell the remaining uncommitted volumes and to manage spot sales and arbitrage opportunities. In 2001 he was seconded to Total Gas & Power Ltd in London as Senior LNG trading Executive where he played a major role in developing the LNG trading desk and Total global LNG portfolio. He returned to Oman LNG in his current role in January 2005.

 

SHUKRI AL MANDHARY

Chief HR Officer

Shukri was appointed Vice President for Human Resource Manager in 2006, after a short tenure in OLNG’s Finance Department as the Commercial Co-ordinator. Shukri join Oman LNG in 2005 after 28years in upstream oil & gas in PDO and Daleel Petroleum. During his career, Shukri has held various positions in Engineering and Operations and executive position. He played key roles in developing heavy oil production when with PDO, mainly for Qarn Alam and Mukhaizna. His earlier career experience included upstream gas plants and supervisory and management roles in engineering. In 2002 Shukri obtained his MBA with emphasis on Project & Change Management. He is a member of the Chartered Management institute. He is a local counsellor i Strategy for the prestigious Strathclyde MBA programme.

 

Maqbool-Hussain Moosa Yousuf Al Lawati BSc, FCCA

Chief Financial Officer

Maqbool joined Oman LNG as Vice President Finance in August 2008. Before joining Oman LNG, Maqbool worked in Petroleum Development Oman for close to 30 years in various finance management roles: Finance Controller, Finance Services Manager, Internal Audit Manager, etc. Between 1995 and 1997, he was Head of Commercial Services in Brunei Shell Petroleum, Brunei Darussalam. Maqbool graduated from South-eastern Oklahoma State University, in 1977 and became Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in 1987. He is now a Fellowship of the ACCA. Maqbool has extensive experience in all aspects of finance in the oil and gas sector, including Financial Strategy formulation, Governance, Risk and Assurance. Supply Chain Management and Shareholder relations. He remains very active in the development of finance profession in Oman.

 

Ali Saleh Al Hashar

Chief External Relations’ Officer

Ali Joined Oman LNG in 1999 in Community Relations and was appointed to his current position in 2007. Ali graduated from Sultan Qaboos University in 1991 and joined the Ministry of Education as English Teacher. In 1994, he moved to the Diwan of Royal Court to undertake the teaching of English at the Sultan Qaboos Institute for Islamic Culture. Ali has a Masters Degree from Bristol University (UK, 1997) in Testing Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Ali has developed a wide network of relationships with Government ministries and agencies, community groups and non-government organisations. When not working, he follows in the family tradition as an accomplished fisherman.
